Certification Standards
How BridgeWorks Academy certifications are awarded, what they represent, how employers can verify them, and what renewal guidance applies.
How Certifications Are Awarded
A BridgeWorks Academy certificate is issued only after a student satisfies two completion requirements.
Course Completion
All lessons in every module must be completed. The platform tracks progress at the lesson level — certification eligibility is not unlocked until every lesson in the course is marked complete.
Assessment Pass Threshold
Required assessments must be passed at a minimum score of 80%. Students may retake assessments up to 3 times before access is restricted. Only assessments marked as required are enforced as certification gates.
What Certifications Represent
A BridgeWorks Academy™ certificate represents successful completion of curriculum and required assessments in the transportation domain covered. It documents that the holder completed the program and demonstrated understanding of the concepts covered.
BridgeWorks Academy credentials are professional development credentials — not government-issued licenses, CDL certifications, or regulatory authorizations. They document completion of professional development training in transportation operations.
Curriculum Completion
Successful completion of all lessons and modules in the program.
Assessment Standards Met
Demonstrated understanding of concepts covered by passing required assessments at the 80% threshold.
Compliance Awareness
Exposure to FMCSA regulations and compliance concepts applicable to the holder's operational domain.
Professional Development
Completion of professional development training in transportation operations, freight logistics, or related subject matter.
Employer Verification
Employers can verify any BridgeWorks Academy certificate without creating an account. The public verification portal accepts a Certificate ID (format: BWA-YYYY-XXXXXXXX) and returns verification details in real time.
Verification returns:
- Credential status (Valid / Revoked / Expired)
- Graduate name
- Program completed
- Completion date
- Certificate ID for recordkeeping
- Verification timestamp
Verification confirms training completion only. It does not verify CDL status, employment history, FMCSA operating authority, insurance, or regulatory licensing. Employers should conduct standard employment verification independently.
Certification Renewal Guidance
BridgeWorks Academy™ certificates are issued as permanent professional development credentials. There is no automatic expiration on BridgeWorks-issued certificates.
Transportation regulations change over time. When significant regulatory updates affect the subject matter of a certification, BridgeWorks Academy recommends reviewing available continuing education modules to maintain knowledge currency. Continuing education modules are part of the BridgeWorks Academy continuing education pathway.
Renewal reminders and continuing education content are part of the BridgeWorks Academy continuing education pathway and are available through your account dashboard.
BridgeWorks Academy™ provides educational training and operational reference materials for the trucking and freight transportation industry. Our courses are designed for informational and workforce development purposes. Completion of BridgeWorks Academy programs does not constitute legal advice, professional licensing, or guarantee of regulatory compliance. Students are responsible for verifying current regulatory requirements with the FMCSA and applicable state agencies.
